Aubert & Duval Invests for the future (US)

In 2010 Aubert & Duval, an ERAMET Group subsidiary, began an extensive, €150 million “Investments for the future” programme.On October 19th, 2012 in Auvergne, France, the Minister for Industrial Renewal Mr Arnaud Montebourg inaugurated the IV 30 unit in the presence of Mr Patrick Buffet, Chairman & CEO of ERAMET and Mr Georges Duval, Chairman of Aubert & Duval. The centrepiece of the facility, a nickel alloy vacuum furnace, is one of the largest of its kind in the world.

The Minister also toured the new UKAD plant, which has already come on stream as key part of Europe’s unique aerospace-grade titanium production channel. The “Investments for the future” programme shows Aubert & Duval’s will to develop its leadership positions in high-tech metallurgy, including nickel-based superalloys, high-performance steels and the titanium and aluminium alloys needed for many cutting-edge industries such as aerospace, power, medical equipment and defence. Three Open Days were organised to turn the spotlight on these new plants. On Friday October 19th, in the presence of the Minister of Industrial Renewal, the event was attended by 200 of the region’s key people, including business executives and partner companies.  The day before, almost 150 customers from around the world also discovered the new facilities. On Saturday, October 20th, around 3,000 employees and their families are expected on site for a presentation of the new facilities.
