METALVALUE SAS, a French Company, created for this project by a Group of Investors and of Metallurgy companies, took control of the Swedish Company Bofors Bruk and acquired all the patents for a new technology to manufacture metallic parts from powder (MMS-Scanpac®).  ASCO-INDUSTRIES, a French Company operating

several steel plants and rolling mills in France, a leader in the market of special steel long products, is willing to offer, to its customers (automotive industry, forging companies, oil and gas industry, etc…), new innovative and competitive solutions. METALVALUE et ASCO-INDUSTRIES have, during the last 2 years, performed common studies to develop in France “to-morrow’s metallurgy”, with the help of METAFENSCH, a Development Platform created by the French Authorities . Those studies have been partially financed by ADEME because of the environmental advantages and the energy savings provided by that technology.

METALVALUE et ASCO-INDUSTRIES will create a joint-company METALVALUE POWDER which will manufacture in France, gas-atomized steel powder, to be used for existing processes already on the market as well as for the MMS-Scanpac® process, developed by METALVALUE.

The powder atomizing plant of METALVALUE POWDER will be the biggest in the world and will allow France to take a leading position in this promising sector.

Powder metallurgy allows important energy savings, decreases raw material consumption and reduces manufacturing cycles.

Studies are still going on for the final selection of the site where this powder atomization plant will be installed. Negotiations are also going on with additional investors and banks to complete the financing of this project.

In parallel, METALVALUE has launched the installation in France of a plant to manufacture metallic parts in Etain (Meuse). This plant will, as a first step, double the production capacity of the already existing Swedish Plant of Bofors Bruk. Several companies have already secured a license for the new MMS-Scanpac® process and will be customers of the METALVALUE POWDER steel powder production.
